SCUBA Diving Medicals
The underwater environment presents unique physiological stresses to the body particularly if the diver has certain pre-existing medical conditions. For this reason, before undertaking a SCUBA diving course in Australia, you will be required to present a valid Australian Standard 4005.1 Recreational SCUBA Diving Medical certificate. At Central City Medical Centre we have been carrying out diving medicals for over 20 years and, as we perform a large number each week, are able to offer them at a competitive rate. The medical involves a review of your medical history, lung function tests, audiometry (hearing test), urine test, a physical exam and, in some cases, an ECG (heart tracing).
