Scientists at the QMIR Berghofer Institute in Queensland have developed a Melanoma Risk Predictor Tool. This can help you gauge your likelihood of developing melanoma skin cancer in the next 3.5 years.

It's a useful tool but a low score doesn't mean you can ignore the Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide advice or forgo a regular skin check.

On December 1st a five-yearly Cervical Screening Test replaces the previous two-yearly Pap smear test. This test screens for the presence of HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) which causes virtually all cases of cervical cancer.
