Antenatal Care
Your health during, but also before, your pregnancy can have significant, life-long implications for the health of your child. For this reason it is a good idea, if possible, to visit your doctor a couple of months before starting to try to get pregnant. We can run some checks to see if you are in the best possible health prior to the pregnancy, ensure vaccinations are up to date and that you are taking appropriate vitamin supplements.
Once you discover that you are pregnant then an early visit to the doctor to arrange further tests and discuss your ongoing care is important. At CCMC you may choose "Shared Care" between your GP and the hospital or opt, after we have seen you for the initial checks, to continue your care with your private obstetrician or in the public system.
Extensive information regarding pregnancy can be found in our Pregnancy Pack.
