Teaching
We are a teaching practice and are involved in medical student and post-graduate (GP registrar) education.
Medical students may therefore be present, with your permission, during your consultation. Patient contact in the GP setting is an extremely important part of their education and is highly valued and appreciated by the students. However, if you prefer not to have a student in the room when you see the GP, this is your right and will not in anyway affect your care and treatment. You may ask that they are not present and to change your mind at any stage during the consultation. Medical students are bound by the same code of ethics and confidentiality as your GP.
GP registrars are fully qualified doctors who are undergoing specialist training to become GPs. During their training at the practice they are mentored by their trainer.
